After civil engineering studies in the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Frédéric Burnand leaned towards journalism. He became editor in chief of a newspaper, contributed to the creation of a new publication and trained interns before joining the Swiss national press agency ATS as a specialist of Western Switzerland business and politics.
Frédéric Burnand joined ftc communication in 2005 as a consultant. He took over the agency in 2008 and lead it alone until June 2011, when he partnered with Pierre-Alain Rattaz and François Huguenet. Since 2013, he shares his time between the agency and the Fédération Vaudoise des Entrepreneurs (the main professional association for the building industry in the Canton of Vaud), where he works as Communication Director.
Frédéric Burnand handles projects for private companies active in the fields of services or industry, professional associations and parapublic institutions.

He also presides over a cultural commission in Lausanne and takes part in the debates of his village’s council. He is engaged in a political party that is close to the economy whilst socially responsible.
