Initially trained as a telecommunications engineer, Selsa Maadi quickly moved into journalism, working as a freelance journalist for around fifteen years for various publications, including 24 heures, Bilan and Le Courrier. This combination of technical and editorial expertise, complemented by a degree in political science, has shaped his approach to communications throughout his career. He naturally moved into digital communications, working first as a Web Manager at 20 minutes, and subsequently at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
Since 2011, Selsa Maadi has supported public and para-public institutions in the canton of Vaud. After serving as Deputy Head of Public Relations at RTS, he joined Les Ligues de la santé and subsequently Unisanté as Head of Communications, where he led, among other projects, two institutional rebranding initiatives. As Communications Advisor to the Executive Management of the City of Lausanne, within the Department of Children, Youth and Neighbourhoods, and later as Head of Promotion and Communications at Aoris·OrTra santé-social Vaud, he has led numerous digital projects and developed extensive knowledge of the Vaud health and social care network.
Combining strategic advisory expertise with hands-on operational execution, Selsa Maadi is equally comfortable developing comprehensive institutional communications strategies and translating them into digital and editorial initiatives. A former member of the Municipal Council of the City of Lausanne (2019–2020), he is also committed to volunteering as a communications expert and IT mentor for seniors.
